In my second commission, I aimed to capture a subtle expression of happiness by giving the character a gentle grin and a light twinkle in their eyes. This piece features a combination of more rigid and curved lines compared to my first commission. The use of darker line work conveys a sense of boldness while still evoking a feeling of joy. These lines also allow for a more tougher texture. 

 

For the background, my main focus was on finding colors that complemented the client’s possum fursona. I incorporated various shapes in different shades of green and wound up creating a graphic design element that is both simple, calming, and elegant. My main goal when creating artwork for others is attempting to capture the pure essence and personality from references given from my client. While the character and graphic design parts of this piece are simple, they convey a complexity about the work as a whole.
